Testimonials
But Lesha responded and got my pup in the very next day. She was sweet, communicative, and so loved my pup. I will be going to her for all my dogs grooming needs. Thank you, Lesha!!” – Brianna L
“Took my 93pd baby for the first time. Not what you expect when you walk into a groomers. They have every kind of crystal for sale, some of the most beautiful colors. But everyone greeted me with a smile. Nails bath and ears hour and a half later done. She came out shiny, clean, and smelling good. I have found my permanent groomer . Thanks to my neighbors for the recommendation.” – Debra C
“Lesha is amazing. We took our dog, Summer, to Lesha’s for over 14 years (since she was a little puppy). We even continued to use her when she moved into Tacoma, instead of switching to someone more local. She always worked with us to help fit Summer in and was very understanding of time constraints as long as we let her know up front. Our dog was not the easiest client for washing as she grew older with hip dysplasia. She took her time to make sure that Summer could be sitting or standing that long, with breaks where needed.
Summer is no longer with us, but we are always grateful for Lesha and how she made Summer feel welcome and loved when she was there.” – Jim J
“Love Lesha. I won’t go anywhere else. Both my dogs are kind of special needs, and she takes incredible care of them. Plus, they always come home super cute!” – Bree W
“My dogs & I had such a great experience here! They worked so well & were so accommodating to my Aussies 🙂 I will definitely be coming back & highly recommend them <3 “- Piper T
“Thank you for doing exactly as we requested. Our little Winnie is very happy!!! We will definitely be returning customers. P.S. We are adopting another Yorkie, so you’ll get two instead of one from now on. Lol” – Alexandra L
Update: “amazing communication! She responded to this review with such appreciation (within an hour) that she offered to complete the service despite some disadvantages. She even offered help with how I could handle my grooming concerns at home. Please get your pet groomed here!!”
“She wasn’t able to groom my big fluffy pup due to her employee leaving, which is totally understandable. But got back to me at 1030pm to let me know she could share her old employees new grooming info to help. I sent my message at 9pm thinking I wouldn’t hear until the next day. Amazingly quick response and the fact that she will connect me to someone who can help is amazing. When taking big dogs again, let me know! Highly recommend but not taking big dogs as of today.” – Nicki G
“If I can give more stars I would, Balance dog grooming or I should say Lesha and her staff are always so happy and cheerful they are very professional but at the same time they make you feel like family. The love that they have for our pets I should say our baby’s is so great. They treat or baby’s as if they were there own. I have been to other dog grooming places and I have to say balance is affordable and the best at making you and your baby (your 4 legged baby) like family. Would I recommend them to anyone? HECK YEA!!!! My friends and family take there pets to them now. Try them out I promise you won’t be disappointed you will be hooked and keep coming back” ~ Tia B
“Lesha is wonderful at what she does, really. I took my little shih tzu in yesterday to get groomed bc his previous groomer decided to stop grooming him bc of how aggressive and sensitive he gets during hair cuts and his hair got so matted over the months. I honestly was struggling to find a new groomer and then came across Lesha’s grooming place on Google and she did her magic on him! my little pup came home so happy with his new cut and she did such a fantastic job considering how he is and how bad his hair was. 10/10 recommend if you need miracles for your lil pups!” ~ Johanna M
“Called to see about a walk in for a nail trimming for my pup. There was no answer but I thought the voice-mail was very informative and I really enjoyed that. I got a call back quickly maybe 20 minutes later and they said no problem. When I went to the salon it was very nice and clean. The employee Rose was very nice and polite and did a great job getting my dogs nails trimmedquickly! It was quick and easy check off the to do list! Will be back again.” ~ Jordanna S
“Had my pomeranian groomed. The new groomer was there at 9 sharp and she did the best cut and nail trim was fabulous. She went above and beyond for my 14 year old girl. She wasn’t stressed when I picked her up.Best shop we have been to in a long time.I recommend this groomer top notch !!!” ~ Cindy M
“Great place! My dog was comfortable there and she came out after her grooming looking and smelling sweet! 😄 Lesha and her staff are good with dogs, friendly and helpful.” ~ Martha O
“Lesha’s is fantastic. I moved to Olympia and I drive up to have my dog Pearl groomed by them still because they are SO great with her. She is a rescue and has sensitivity issues and everybody is so kind about it with her. They take their time, treat her with love, and she always looks exactly how I expect every time. I’ve had to cancel, reschedule, miss all last minute and everybody has been so sweet and wonderful about it. The facilities are great – it feels like walking her into a friend’s house to get groomed! – and everything is organized and tidy. It’s very clear to me Lesha takes her career seriously and having someone who’s as gentle with my dog as I would be makes me so much more comfortable leaving Pearl in their extremely capable hands.” ~ Sarah S
“Lesha is the best!! Really, she’s the dog whisperess!! My dog acts a lot more disciplined and happy around her while being groomed, and even let’s her touch her toes!! I can’t even get close!! About Me
What a Journey: Lesha’s Life in Pet Grooming, Training & Healing.
From Childhood Dreams to Entrepreneur Reality
As a child, I told my parents, “Someday I’ll have my own business and work for no one but myself.”
At 25 years old, I made that happen. I found a grooming shop for rent, met with the landlord, and spoke with the confidence of an established business owner.
Truthfully, I had a $1,000 loan from my grandparents, three pairs of scissors, a brush, a comb, a fold-up grooming table, a small crate dryer, a hair dryer, a few crates, and some $1.00 Suave shampoo from the dollar store.
And yet, I had the passion, skills, and determination to make it work.
I’ve now been running my grooming business since 2006—and every step has been worth it.
A Lifelong Bond with Animals
My journey with animals started even earlier. While I was still in the 12th grade, my parents enrolled me in an apprenticeship program to learn dog training. That’s where I began understanding the language of anxious, timid, and even aggressive dogs—from tiny chihuahuas to extra-large working breeds.
In my 20s and 30s, I bred, trained, and fostered protection and sport dogs, placing many in loving, approved homes. I also trained service dogs and helped rehabilitate foster dogs to prepare them for their new lives.
At just 18 years old, I was already learning the ropes of running a dog boarding, training and grooming business.
I took a trip to Oregon for a protection dog seminar, I was unexpectedly invited to compete in a trial with my Belgian Malinois—and won 1st place.
Learning from Experience, Not Just Textbooks
My grooming career officially began when I enrolled in grooming school in 1998. I spent close to a year learning hands-on beside a master groomer. Within a few months, I was already trusted to help teach new students.
Later, I worked at a grooming and boarding kennel where I eventually became a head employee. I learned how to manage the day-to-day operations of both grooming and boarding facilities, giving me an even deeper understanding of animal care, customer service, and business flow.
Grooming with Compassion & Skill
I specialize in grooming dogs that others might turn away—aggressive, anxious, or fearful dogs that need extra patience and understanding.
My background in dog behavior and training helps me connect with these animals, earning their trust and making the grooming process smoother and less stressful for everyone.
Over the years, I’ve also detected medical issues in my clients’ dogs that others may have missed—early signs that led to critical diagnoses like cancer.
I’m not a vet, but I pay attention, and I will always voice my opinion if something seems off with your pet.
A Deeper Calling: Energy Work & Healing
My approach goes beyond fur and brushes.
I’ve always been drawn to crystals, ancient medicine, and energy healing.
I completed a 10-hour Reiki course and soon will offer energy healing services to both dogs and their humans.
These sessions help release emotional blockages and promote calm, balanced energy—something I believe deeply benefits both pets and people.
In my grooming shop, you’ll also find a collection of beautiful crystals for sale. They reflect the peaceful, spiritual energy that I bring into my practice every day.
Rooted in Heritage, Guided by Spirit
My father and mother’s deep appreciation for animals also influenced my path. I believe my understanding and respect for all living creatures is both a gift and a responsibility.
I’ve also volunteered at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Facility, adding even more hands-on experience with a wide range of species to my journey.
Living My Passion—and Encouraging Yours
At one point in my life, I would walk my pack of 15 dogs around the neighborhood—something that neighbors, family and friends often said was that I reminded them of world famous dog behaviorest Cesar Millan the dog whisper.
To anyone reading this: If you’re not happy doing what you’re doing, you are allowed to change it. Life is too short to live without joy and purpose. You are in control of your own happiness, your own path, and your own story.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about me and my experience. I am so grateful for my ongoing support and trust. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family.
With love and gratitude,
Lesha MoonSage
Your seasoned groomer
